What is your school size?
Currently we have 299 students in prek through 8th grade.
Are you near Scott Air Force Base?
Yes, we are approximately 6 miles west of Scott AFB.
Do you serve breakfast?
Not at this time.
Do you serve lunch?
Yes, we serve a hot or cold lunch daily for the cost of $2.05 (milk included). Students may also bring their lunch and purchase milk for .30 cents.
Do you provide transportation?
No, you must provide your own transportation.
Are teachers state certified?
Is the school state accredited?
We are recognized by the state of Illinois every three years.  We also hold national accreditation by the Lutheran School Association.
How many students per class?
Prek-3 year old can go up to 12 students, Prek-4 year old = 14 students, Kindergarten through 8th grade varies between 14 and 25.  This year we have two classes per grade for Kindergarten, 1st, 5th, and 7th grades .
Do you have extra curricular activities?
Yes, we offer a variety of extra curricular activities.  For example: choirs for grades 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5-8, they occasionally sing on Sunday's during church service.  Band is also available beginning in 4th grade.  Sports begin in 5th grade with choices for both boys and girls.  We have Boys Baseball and Girls Volleyball in the fall.  Girls & Boys Basketball, Cheerleading, plus track and field.  And a large variety of Youth Activities through our church that all our students are invited to attend.
What is the cost? 
Current tuition cost for the 2011-2012 school year are:  Non-members pay $3,900 per year, payable by semester, quarterly or by a 10-month plan (Aug. - May, payment of $390 per month).  Zion Lutheran Church believes part of its mission is the school, therefore members pay $2,631 per year.  Members are expected to tithe, attend church and sunday school regularly.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes, aid is available through two means.  The Building Blocks Scholarship Fund from LESA (Lutheran Elementary School Association) and through a scholarship fund adminstered through Zion Lutheran Church.  Applications are available in the school office.
